Well maybe we can induce this new fellow to up his jocularity quotient.

One of the things I've always liked about Charlton though is all the Red bashing they did. DC hardly ever did any and Marvel basically cut it out by 1964-65. But Charlton's heroes, including Gorgo, Konga and everybody, frequently confronted the Reds.

It has been proposed that there were a lot of 'fellow travelers" on the editorial staff at DC -- which is why the Reds / Communists were rarely the villains -- or even mentioned at all. There was some discussion of this in the War thread a few months back.

 

The best evidence of this is shown when the BLACKHAWKS title switched over from Quality to DC. The Hawks fought mostly Red villains, but shortly after the switch to DC, the Commies all disappeared.
