You want to know something REALLY cool?

Wow David, that is very very cool and a sweet looking book. (thumbs u

This doesn't compare to your artist and I bought three books off

Mike Zeck and he was selling some of his collection on e-bay.

I sent off an e-mail about how much I admired Mike's work and he

replied with a very nice e-mail and seemed like a great guy that

appreciated his fans.

I also sold a copy of TTA 57 to Modern artist Aaron Lopresti on

e-bay and we exchanged e-mails back and forth for a while. I was

in one of my LCS and on the wall he had a big framed sketch of

Batman and the Joker that Aaron had done for him at one of the

SDCCs. I e-mailed Aaron again and he remembered the owner very

well and described this beautiful drawing perfectly.

I think it's very cool doing any business with a creator of comic

books and can't wait for my first big con in the USA and watching

the artists draw. :luhv:

Nice one David and thanks for sharing. :)

Both this and David's stories ARE very cool! :applause:

I had a chance to meet Aaron Lopresti at last year's SDCC and he's a cool guy...

David-

Did you consider declining payment and giving the book to him?

I considered numerous things, but decided that the best option was to complete the sale and send him my compliments - clearly he had his own designs for the book :)

Ultra Cool David (thumbs u

Did you get a signature from him maybe?

Nope, not yet :) I hope to start a dialogue though.

Cool story, did you sign the book for him? :baiting:

My Wife actually made that same joke . . .

What is a Tomato Boxer?

other than the obvious (Tomato Boxer briefs that have been posted)

I don't think that I know what a Tomato Boxer comic is...

anyone care to define this comic slang?

hm

It's David's own personal "pedigree" designation...kept his collection stored for years in old Tomato Boxes I believe at his parents home before finally retrieving them and getting back into the hobby...so, all his OO books that largely exhibit great condition and great page quality...
