Ryan.
I just picked up a Crow 1 for what I think is a decent price at an LCS. Which one...? WebHead in Wakefield. Unfortunately every single back issue they have in stock seems to be in no better than Fine condition.
HarveySwick
That's a decent shop! (thumbs u I was just curious. Haven't seen them around much.
Ryan.
It's an okay shop. I've been going there for about 15 years and the two owners have never once acknowledged my presence as a customer until I wave my arms in the air and beg to buy the books in my hand. HarveySwick
It's an okay shop. I've been going there for about 15 years and the two owners have never once acknowledged my presence as a customer until I wave my arms in the air and beg to buy the books in my hand. I went there once and I felt intimidated by the Magic the Gathering tournament going on. Those Magic card geeks are a tough crowd and a different breed! Bosco685
How often to #1 9.8s pop up for sale? I haven't been able to find one. Not often. I didn't realize until I my WTB thread a bunch of times and Dave told me to look at the Census! I feel like when I did look at the time there were only 8! There are 10 now. But 1 isn't going anywhere so that means there are 9. I'm sure you can account for most, if not all, of the other 9 in this thread. So... they don't come up often. You are right in that most of the 9.8s are owned by forumites. There was one seller we were tracking that would list his 9.8, have a 0 bidder win it, and then the book would show up later on. Same with a 9.6 he had. I don't know whatever came of those books.
HarveySwick
Well, do you want to start a list?? Blue Label 9.8's: HarveySwick - 1 Yellow Label 9.8's:

Bosco685
Oh, not at all! It's your baby and I know you're passionate about it... Never even crossed my mind for a second! Not because I started the thread. More because there are years of super discussions in this thread about a great story arc. So it would be a shame to see that left by the wayside just to have registry numbers as the primary focus.

Vikingreed
What about the 2-4 9.8s? I'm guessing those are brutal to find as well. Prob have to purchase what I can find, and gradually upgrade if/when possible. I'm fully committed to building this set now. OCD does it do me every time... At least the hunt is fun. Vikingreed
And here I thought I was good to go finding a CP #1 9.8. Let me guess... That's the easiest one to get, haha.
Bosco685
Oh great. Now Ryan Elliott/Vondoom has gotten into the Crow part of our hobby. Beware - here there be scammers. Wow, he's got a lot of pgx. Supposedly, he works for them. I think he is the 'senior-only" grader. Would'nt that be considered a conflict of interest, grading and selling? I now must steer this woderful thread from a possible PGX lock. Lady Gaga? Who are the ad wizards who came up with that one? Fun conversations. Vikingreed
Haha, figures. Oh well, I enjoy the hunt. I'm also going back and reading this thread. Good stuff.
seanfingh
It's still an awesome book! But the Crow 1-4 are devilishly hard in 9.8. I've found two 9.6s in the wild, but never a 9.
