Received this one today. They seem to go for big money on eBay in high grade, especially considering it's from 1994.

I've been watching them for a while on eBay and they go for $50-100+. There was one listed twice recently that had some minor damage for $23 that didn't sell, that surprised me. I think a coverless copy sold for only a couple bucks lately also.

Does anyone have any original art featured in Juxtapoz? I started writing some of the artists and galleries and buying pieces once I finally got a "real" job. Here's a piece I bought in the mid-nineties...

Nice piece, looks like it's similar to R. Williams in style, but I don't think it is. I don't think I'll be in the league to by OA from Panter or William or the like...

Juxtapoz is an important mag, but don't forget it began as Art Alternatives, and had it earliest roots in thrasher when artists like Williams were featured. The Editor from Thrasher started both of the other mags if I remember correctly.

I've got a copy of the first two issues of Art?, but for some reason they don't command nearly the $ on eBay.

I guess I should've listed the artist. It's a piece by RK Sloane called Goodbye Cruel World. He ghosted for Ed Roth and is best known for the Guns N Roses logo. I wish I had the money to buy an original Robert Williams. My tastes are less aggressive these days. I guess I'm getting old and boring?

 

Art Alternatives did hit the stands before Juxtapoz and was a decent magazine. I'm only missing one. I don't like the direction that Juxtapoz is headed and have switched to High Fructose for my lowbrow art appreciation.

I just saw the new issue (#11) of Hi Fructose today and was really impressed.
