Give us his location and whomever lives closest to him agrees to either 1. Kick his , 2. mess in a bag, light it on fire and place it on his doorstep or 3. Sign him up for hundreds of porn sites that will in turn sell his email and address to thousands of more porn sites.

just scan the book in the bag and board, to give us an idea of what it looks like before you return it...that way, you also have "proof" of what you received versus his auction scan

Why not go with Option 1, but mixing it with Option 2.

Get a few boardies, filling the bag like you suggested, then put this guy in it and light it. (shrug)

File a claim with Paypal. Once they read his email you are guaranteed a full refund. The seller is a nutjob.

That's why I was asking if this jerk sent that via the eBay messaging system. They will only use an email if it came through their system. Otherwise, they take the stance you can alter the information when sent via other methods.

This guy needs to learn a lesson.

The seller is engaging in fraud by altering his image, but it does appear to me that it is evident that the image was cropped in the listing (clear warning sign). He did indicate that the book was a G/VG, which would be a 3.0. A 3.0 is a pretty beat up copy, which certainly does not correspond with his image.

In any event, hopefully the paypal dispute comes through for you :foryou:

Always file a claim if aren't satisfied with the end result. If he offers a refund, but refuses, then e-bay will back you up. There's nothing wrong with that. It may take a month, but the end result is worth it.

Yes, the email was sent through ebay messaging system....

This guy should be slaughtered by them for sending an email like that through their system. Thank goodness he was that goofy.

I'd note that in the claim that you received the response via the eBay messaging system. I would love to hear what they come back with when they read it.

Knowing how wishy-washy eBay can be though, I will not fall out of my chair if they come back with "The seller didn't mean what he said, and naturally it was a joke. Case closed!" :pullhair:

Ebay will back you up, but they will make you pay for the return shipping. Paying for return shipping after this kind of things can leave a bit of a sour taste, but considering what you paid, it is well worth it.

Yea, I really want to see this book now too. I'd also like to see some of the other trash a lot of these people are getting, judging by some of the negatives this seller has. (I know that won't happen, but it would be for the lulz.)
