OT: Greatest BAD movie of all time

218 posts in this topic

1) "Soldier" starring Kurt Russell; flopped in theaters, but to me it tells a great story.

That movie was great, and they way Russell shows the maturation of the lead character is well done. The fighting scenes were awesome, especially when they were on the chains.

The bald guy that becomes his rival - isn't that the same actor from "The Jungle Book?" That dude was ripped in "Soldier."

Yeah that was Jason Scott Lee. He also played Bruce Lee in Dragon.

Why not add to this then since I mentioned Kurt Russell:

4) "Escape From NY" - corny at times, but Snakes Plissken was tough as nails.

5) "The Thing" - I don't think this movie went over well as a remake, but for its time what an eye-catcher.

BTW, did everyone know that it is Kurt Russell doing the voice of Elvis in "Forrest Gump" when he rents from them?

I'm gonna have to go with The Warriors as my all time favorite Bad movie. I just dig it so much I bought the DVD and watch it at least once every few months just for kicks.

This is followed closely by Big Trouble in Little China. That movie is hilariously bad.

Are you serious? That is one of the best horror films ever made. Remake or not.

I concur (thumbs u

This is true. It is an excellent Carpenter film. Far superior to the original.

Toxic Avenger: Nerdy kid get's brutally picked on than dumped into a vat of toxic waste, and exacts his revenge on humanity.

Hard Bodies II(Maybe III or IV: This movie is basically your soft porno, except for one hilarious scene where this 20 year old starts dancing to this jerk. The jerk says "What is he doing", and friend of teenager responds "He flipping you off in 50 different languages." Definitely in my top 5 moments in cinematic history. :headbang:

I love it, so no worries here. Otherwise, I wouldn't own a well-watched copy. (thumbs u

Easy list.

Hulk 1

Hulk 2

Fantastic Four 1

Fantastic Four 2

X-Men 3

Honorable mention:

Punisher 1 & 2

Spiderman 3

All of these sucked comprehensively on one or more levels, and I still watch select bits and pieces of all of them when they air.

But for old school, you can't go wrong with early Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, or John Wayne movies. Desperately bad sometimes, but they still appeal.

Was "Army of Darkness" considered a hit? That movie has a way of making most folks laugh, but I attribute that to Bruce Campbell. What an amazingly funny straight man as you always feel he is laughing at himself.

I LOVE bad movies.

Street Trash is definitely up there and one of the best-worst of all time.

Troll 2 is untouchable, too. It gave us great lines like, "they're eating her...and then they're going to eat me...OHHHH MYYYY GODDDDD!"

Most 70s Korean fantasy is super awesome.

All the Critters movies were awesome.

The best newer bad movie is definitely Dragon Wars. It had it all: a nonsense plot, terrible acting, and the most ridiculous special effects ever.

10,000 B.C. was hilariously bad, too. Remember when that piece of gold pyramid top falls off and looks like it was made on a playstation 1?
