Just in from CGC.......

cap1.jpg

This particular copy has been pressed so flat that what you are actually

looking at is the inside back cover. CGC usually places two pieces of

microchamber paper inside each book they grade. Not here. Wouldn't fit.

If you try to look at it from the side it disappears!

(Hey, anti-pressing guys...that is sarcasm! But I did disclose....)

A little disappointed in the grade, but I bought this book over thirty years ago (it was my first Golden Age key!) so I don't think I will be hurt financially. It should make us painfully aware that Restoration (in all its forms) has been around since the first comic was bought off the stands with a bent spine. Are the Angel stories reprinted in the Sub-Mariner Archives HC from Marvel? Cause the Angel story in here is way better than the Subby stories.

Holy Grail Mr. B,

Very Nice, very nice, PLOD and all, I'll take it! It looks much nicer than the most of the 8.0, like two grades better. Looks nicer than 9.0's, and for what its worth I would take this copy all day long at the same price as the recent 8.0 which have sold. Even with the pressing and cleaning, its all good. cloud9.gifyay.gif

Oh, and the Subby is a beaut as well.

Its nicer than a Hot Tub full of strippers. Which is pretty nice, if I can remember that far back into my single days. yay.gif

So you get to go into a hot tub full of strippers, and your wife would only make you give up a run of Funny Stuff? Man, why do you even have those books any more?

Maybe? I got this in trade from Dan Greenhalgh in '95 or so. I think many folks

had a go with it before it finally found a home. Nobody wanted it because, at some point,

it was determined that the cover was cleaned and therefore worthless. Then it was like a hot potato!

I just don't understand that mentality now, but for a while many of us bought into it.

Yeah I can understand how cleaning a cover properly so the quality of the book stays good for another 60-100yrs is bad. Otherwise the foxing(mold) might actually do some damage. (sarcasim)

That's the one! Nice blast from the past.

You know I don't mind restored books at all, only when they are sold as unrestored high grades for a premium. That's why I returned it. It was/is a lovely book, that would highlight any collection. thumbsup2.gif

Nice book Richard. Any chance you have a low grade copy lying around?
