I realized my original post could be confusing or taken the wrong way so I edited it....

The owner of my old restored Cap 2 put it in a "universal" slab and up for auction on comic connect.

I doubt the owner(s) had the color touch removed.

I saw it and felt I had to warn you guys. Do unto others and all that.

Here are the picks.

When I sold it. (ebay)

Huh? From "slightly brittle pages" to "tan to cream"? Also, no mention of restoration or completely split spine? (shrug) .5 to 1.8?! :shy:

I've had the misfortune to win a couple of PGX books that came back from CGC with brittle pages -- one had been given a CR-OW designation by PGX.

Needless to say, these wins weren't the bargains they appeared to be. And, yeah, I should have known better.

As for that 9.6 Allentown Cap 3...I can't even look at that for too long before I lose my mind to how beautiful it is...

Thanks for the compliments.... It's one of my favorite books from my collection, I'm partial to yellow covers and that one in particular is glaring....

Not the Timely you were expecting, but the one you deserve (to see): lol

The hyper rare Captain America Vol 1 #1:

Only somewhat kidding, as this is generally considered to be the reason Cap #1 says vol 2 #1 in the indicia. Popular Digest #2 appears out of the blue just prior to Cap 1.

That aside, probably even cooler for the fact that it is indeed Martin Goodman's very first Timely Publication, shows you why Timely is called Timely, and hitting just before Marvel 1:

No comics, still cool though.

Sartre, I love your books but you really gotta invest in a better way to scan or photograph them. Your pics just don't do the books justice. It'd be like showing up at car show with your new Bentley after taking it offroading in a mud pit! lol
