OT: Flame Wars...

After my recent run-in with a well-developed 'superorder selachimorpha', I got to thinking about other flame wars I'd been in. Fortunately, some of them have been archived. Here's a link to one of my earliest ones, from when I was a newbie on the internet. Of course, my username was 'Beau'.

 

If you think the flames around here get nasty, look at THIS . Totally NSFW due to language. And yes, I'm a gamer, a nerd in more than one category. :D

Although the flame wars I was in lasted years.

 

All started at EA Sports Forums.

 

 

 

Anyway, Beau, what the hell are you using a 0 instead of a O for OT?

Nah, he went off on an unprovoked rant in Reno's thread...something about me being proof that making children is nothing more than a biological act.

 

I started that new thread to get him out of spoiling reno's thread.

The old AOL chatrooms were truly the wild west... I am not saying there isn't some serious stuff going on here, but this place is like a hotel compared to the bar with bare planks on the floor and a spittoon, that was the old AOL rooms. I'm talking OLD... 1994 old.

 

Those places are where I cut my teeth on "flame wars" and where I earned my current screen name - the chance of getting me or getting TO me truly is slim to none.

What was amazing to me is that he would post something like this:

...and then go on to attack somebody with wild abandon.

 

That was an eye opener.

 

Fear not Pontoon, weekend frolics are on the horizon. I can almost smell 'em!
