I'd say 9.0 at most based on scan, on a white book difficult to see if and how many spine ticks in scan and I can't tell if the corners are rounded or just bent downward

Corners are bent downward, not rounded.

 

There is a barely perceptable spine tic by the copyright symbol (in the orange are near cap). You can't see it unless you look at the book along the spine. Also, the book has a black stripe along the spine. The only other possiblt tic is a spot near the very top of the book where the black strip has a white spot.

 

I do not see any other flaws with this book.

 

Please let me know if I missed anything and how you would grade it.

 

Also, is there any way I should consider slabbing this book?

Is the cover torn underneath the top staple?

Also, what's going on with the zaggednish along the top?

Is that the scanner?

The area surrounding the top staple does look strange. I can not see any signs of a crease or tear so it would appear to be some kind of binding defect.

 

The top of the books looks great so the scanner might have had some trouble with the backing board underneath the top of the book.
