the writer (because if the story sucks it's not worth reading)

the character (some characters make for good stories)

the condition (I like my stuff looking good to me)

(thumbs u

I don't care how pretty the art is, if the story sucks I won't be buying.

yeah you can always buy prints of art that you like or get a scan or photocopy from a friend, but a good story can't be replaced. Ok art can be made better by good writing, but great art can be destroyed by a bad story.

I picked "title, condition and era". But particularly since I'm a GA collector, "price" is a HUGE factor in determining what to collect, and would probably knock any one of these other factors to fourth place.

1) The CGC label.

2) Making money off of old ladies and noobs, or what I like to call "Pwnage of the weak".

3) Impressing 20 year old girls with my slab(s).

Title... Is there an X in the title... I want it!

Character... Is that Rogue... I want it... TWICE (and all variants too, and CGC it for me)

Genre... Can they fly... Good chance I will like it. (Super Hero comics are my fetish)

I buy them because of the X and the character in it... no matter how bad the story is (although I think the X-titles stories are strong at the moment...) I guess I am an avarage joe when it comes to collecting (but one with 25 years of collecting experience)

Considering I mainly collect Batman & Tec the choices were pretty much made for me.

Title, Character and Condition.
