Terrible news concerning nik.

I just read a article about the new treatments for stroke victims. It seems that Viagra, Cialis, Levitra are being studied as a treatment. They promote the return of a healthy blood supply to the entire body. A Canadian ER Nurse woke up in a "locked in" stroke state. She knew something was very wrong. She couldn't speak or move. Her husband saw her and knew she wasn't OK. After the initial therapy. She was put on Viagra. It did indeed help her get back some of the movement in her body, with some speech as well. She was then put on Cilais for cost reasons. She is improving as much as possible.

Always have admired Nik for his common sense and civility in all his posts.

He always seems to have a good sense of humor and a level head about most things.

And his grading ability is certainly top notch.

Hope you get well soon!!!

This is just lousy news.... Nik is a king, and one of the nicest, fairest dudes on the boards.

Hang tight, brother. We're thinking about you, and hoping for a speedy recovery.

This is really startling and heart breaking news! I sincerely pray that Nik recovers fully. I know this is not what he and his family were planning on doing today. However, in hindsight, it was best that it happened to him in Mass. and not on the plane or even in Greece. Nik's a class act and always helpful without the negative or condescending attitude. May our Father in Heaven comfort you and your family and grant you the opportunity to make a speedy recovery.

nik is relatively young and strong (he has to be to do what he does for a living). that is surely going to help him recover. we can only pray that this was relatively minor stroke. my father recovered very well from a relatively minor one in his 70's (was playing tennis afterward), so anything is possible. terrible news really one of the nicer people here.

That is terrible News.

Nik is a great guy and one of the good guys in our hobby.

My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his whole family in this time of need.

I have NO Doubt Nik will make a full recovery as he is one tough East Coaster. :wishluck:

Pull through my friend I know you can,

Nik's wife specifically asked me to let everyone know of his condition as she knows he loves the boards and has many close friends here.

Please keep your posts to the positive as this a very difficult time for his family, his wife does read the boards, and a trying time for those of us who knew him personally.

Thank you.
