But since this is the Marvel picture frame thread.

Here is a couple more picture frames from this collection.

Now I only have one copy left of the Doc Savage 2s.

I gave one copy away to a forum member here for free and I also paid the postage.

Shhhh... Don't tell anyone.

The odd random free tribute appeases the four color deities and good deals fall my way... Just joking but random kindness is fun in a hobby.

Wow, what a find! Those treasuries look pristine, which is hard to find in a treasury.

In another thread I was talking about wordless covers that let the art tell the story.  The picture frame format only half meets that standard, given the caption along the bottom, but this issue is an honorary member of the wordless cover club for me.

It's also one of THE very best covers of Marvel's Bronze Age, IMHO.  Absolutely incredible, I could stare at it all day.

This story starts a long long time ago....

In a galaxy not so far away....

(Insert Star Wars Theme music)

A young guy worked in a magazine distribution business, next door was the distributor for comic books. This was in the early 70s where he befriended a woman who worked in the comics distribution and allowed him to buy all the comics he wanted at half cover price.

So he bought the comics, never read them and stored them under his subfloor for 50 years. And is slowly pulling them out now.

He would buy single issues of books up to 100 copies. Very random.

Years later he worked at another distributor where he brought back some of the books to work and secretly sealed them in plastic where he'd bundle books in lots of 20

Now not all the books are high grade from transporting and storage and some books handled again to have them sealed in plastic bags. So grades varied. But I have a keen eye and here is a sample I own of some of the books.
