Spiderman #1 sighting !!

67 posts in this topic

Looks like a GRR since there's no 12c circle on the cover. Is that what you remember? What happened to the record?

Have you been getting enough carrots in your diet?? :baiting:

:preach: Just old age.

I was looking over this pic with my photoshop zoom feature and was trying to see exactly how many books I could identify. Some I can....but alot I just don't know. Can anyone help me fill in the mystery comic blanks??? I've zoomed the covers and partial covers as best I could. Blank answer sheet in next post.

YAH-HOO !! Thx jpepx78 ! And thanks Bill. I now have......closure :insane: Dont really know why so many Ducks got put in the forefront. I know there are lots of better books in there. More expensive books. At least by todays standards.

And finally, heres some pics of the Conan pencil drawing that Jack did just a couple years ago ( he's the kid holding the Superman 32). First one has the Overstreet in there for size reference

Jeez Mike, what a great thread. The pic of you guys surrounded by your comics is one of the great all time comic pictures. Absolutely classic. Your obvious love of comics shines through.

It looks like some of the books are in plastic bags. What did you use for plastic bags? How long did it take to set picture up? It must have taken a while to cart all the books over and stack them up. Who had more comics, you or Jack?

Jack's art looks great. I would imagine he got into cartooning because it pays more 'cause he certainly has the chops to work in the comic field.

Just checked out this thread today, awesome picture, and some great stories. You should tell your friend Jack about this thread, he would probably get a kick out of it!

(thumbs u

Funny you should say that. I just today did send him a link for it, and yea, I'm sure he WOULD get a kick out of it.

And Dave, I have no idea what kind of plastic bags those were. Whatever they had back in the early '70s. I do remember that if you left em on the comics for any length of time they would turn this ugly yellow color....UGGG :P Changing out your comic bags was a regular occurance.

I kept my books in plastic bread bags. Usually whole wheat.

The old poly bags turned yellow after about 10 years. They were pretty ugly.
