UPDATED - World's Longest Yard Sale 2009 - Now with VIDEO!!

69 posts in this topic

Okay one last video and some parting thoughts. This is the HGTV crew filming

a segment for their Annual Yard sale show. They have contestants try to find

the best bargains each day and then they are appraised. Kind of like a game

show meets Antiques Roadshow. If you watch in the first few seconds on the

left side of the screen, the gentleman in the yellow shirt is sharing some popcorn

with his friend who proceeds to drop half of it onto the ground. doh!

The conditions on the road may be tough if you are trying to do the

whole thing in 4 days, but if you just do a segment of it and

stick to the bigger towns like Jamestown,TN, Crossville,TN, Chattanooga,TN,

Harrodsburg KY, Frankfort, KY, Gadsden, AL you will find a lot to look at and have most of

the conveniences of home. Remember, plan ahead and good luck next

year! (August 5th-8th, 2010)

Wife and I went seven or eight years ago. We stayed in Chattanooga b/c she didn't want to spend her time at a flea market. Each day we drove a little further north. Great BBQ and fun in Chatt., and I think she enjoyed it more than she let on. We've been discussing going back for the last couple of years but different things have come up. Since we're up in Philly, we're thinking of doing the Ohio leg and into KY.
