The bid is not really up to $16.1k. The only two bidders seem to be thrill bidders (with feedbacks of 1 and 6 respectively.)

 

The last one sold for 16k with better PQ: Off-white pages

 

(But worse cover wrap)

Yes I've noticed that too. I wonder if there will be a point were there are so many #181 9.8's on the market (it could happen) That these start selling bellow $10K ?

The current seller has "only" 97% feedback (due to one neg), and generally low feedback overall.

 

We may see a new GPA low...?

In 2008, there were only 3 (high 25k and low 15k)

In previous years, there were no more than 2 recorded sales in any given year with no sales at all in 2005.

 

Of course, Comiclink data is excluded.

 

I would assume the peaks at 25k+ are the white pagers with the rest going for around 15-18k. Seems like a slight downward trend for the less than perfect while the white pagers are actually going up a little.

My 9.8 Hulk 181 cost me quite a bit less than that, mostly because it pressed up from a 9.6 :D (and so did my 180) :D:D

I have to tell you guys, I'm so happy I sold my Hulk 181 9.8 last year. When I owned that book I was one of 13 people who had one. Had a feeling many more were going to pop up, haven't checked the census lately but there is over 30 9.8 books now. Have a feeling people who bought at high prices are not going to be able to recoup their money. Was able to add a Hulk 1 6.5, TOS 39 5.0 JIM 83 5.0 and TMNT 1 9.0 with the proceeds. Happy to keep my 9.6 copy.
