In my mind there is no better cover run by a single artist than Frazetta's stint on Famous Funnies.

 

No argument there...if anyone doubts that Frazetta isn't the best, show them those eight covers.

Technically another omission is the cover for Weird Science-Fantasy 29.

 

This was originally a Buck Rogers cover which would have been part of this Famous Funnies series, but was rejected for being too violent. Of course, up against Craig and Ingels' EC covers it looks rather tame.

Thanks for putting up the Frazettas. They are all startling images. He might win as highest percentage of "classic" classic covers. They are better than Steranko's. But just about every cover that Steranko did was a classic.
