COMIC BOOKS COME TO THE ARMORY

THE NY COMIC BOOK MARKETPLACE UNITES FANS, ARTISTS, DEALERS

 

On Saturday, February 27, Michael Carbonaro’s New York Comic Book Marketplace comes to the 69th Regiment Armory at 68 Lexington Avenue between 25 and 26 St, bringing scores of famous comic books, publishers, and dealers to the thousands of fans who will be attending.

 

DATE: Saturday February 27th, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm

PLACE: 69th Regiment Armory, 68 Lexington Ave (between 25th & 26th Streets),

New York City

TICKETS: $10

 

With its low cost (only $10 admission at the door) and intimate atmosphere, this convention will be a great opportunity for fans to meet favorite hot contemporary artists and comic book legends including Billy Tucci, Mike Golden, Irwin Hasen, Jim Starlin, Mark Texiera, Larry Hama, Dan Slott, Guy Dorian, Ayers, Ian Dorian, J H Williams III, Scott Roberts, Sean Chen, Renee Witterstaetter, Janet Jackson, Stu Suchet, John Cebollaro, Jorge Gonzalez, Cliff Chiang, and many more.

 

All of the artists are happy to meet and greet comic book lovers, sign autographs, and many will even draw sketches of their favorite characters

 

The Convention will also have David Roya, famous for his role as Bernard Posner in the cult classic film “Billy Jack.”

 

Over 100 dealer tables will be filled with comics old and new, toys, posters, trading cards, videos, and related pop-culture collectibles. This is an opportunity no true fan should miss!

 

Michael Carbonaro has produced comic conventions that no true fan should miss. That convention has grown by leaps and bounds to being one of the largest public events in the city. This show will be a return to his roots, an exciting, affordable show with famous artists, unique dealers, and devoted fans all in the same building, with love for a true American art form, the comic book.

I'm surprised there's no mention of Gene Colan anywhere in this or the website...it's on Gene's site, and he even confirmed to me in an email that he is indeed planning on going!

Event update: Yes, Gene Colan will be there. Added to the roster also are Herb Trimpe and Tony Robinson.

 

Alan Lopresti is not able to make it, though.

They just updated the website this week, got pix of most of the artists. They added Trevor Von Eeden, Sean Chen, JH Williams, III, and Bill Sienkiewicz.

 

The event opens at 11 AM and runs till 7 PM.
