at least the second half was for sure I couldnt care less about either team, although I rooted for the underdog Cinderella story Panthers. What a game!! Even the wife sat entranced. Shame it ended on a anticlimactic kick What was Carolina's kicker thinking on that kickoff If he doesnt kick it out of bounds I dont think the Patrioits get that kick off in time.

It was unclear whether Timberlake intended to expose Jackson's breast.

Wade said CBS officials attended rehearsals of the halftime show all week, "and there was no indication any such thing would happen. The moment did not conform to CBS' broadcast standards and we would like to apologize to anyone who was offended."

The Super Bowl halftime show, which also featured Puff Daddy, Nelly and Kid Rock, was produced by MTV, CBS' corporate cousin in Viacom.

"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced halftime show," Joe Browne, NFL executive vice president, said. "They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the content of the show.

"It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."

a couple of comments off the top of my head about the game and some comments made already;

a frickin' excellent game even though i was rooting for the panthers.

super bowl 5 was a complete stinker!!! a defensive player on the losing team was MVP. niether the colts nor cowboys could get out of their own way.

don't believe that either of the dallas vs pittsburgh games was a blow-out. think they were pretty excellent, in fact, even though i wasn't a big pitts fan.

missed the janet jackson exposed breast - and i was watching the show at the time.

thought the ABSOLUTE best commercial was a real sleeper. whatever the newest erectile dysfunction drug is called (cialis?), at the very end of their last commercial (two oldsters laying in bathtubs overlooking the mountains), the announcer pipes in; "while not common, erections that last for more than 4 hours can be serious and you should seek a physicians advice immediately" or somesuch. that really cracked me up!!!!!!!!! bet they get lots of sales after that statement.................. grin.gif

That Super Bowl a few years ago where that guy who broke away and ran long yardage and got tackled on the 1-yard line just as time ran out was probably the best ever because you thought they were gonna win at the buzzer but got DE-NIED by such an impossibly small margin. I forget which one it was, but I *THINK* it was Tennessee versus somebody with Tennessee losing at the last second.

One of the best SuperBowl's ever! It has been a while since we had a game that kept everyone riveted to the tube. 893applaud-thumb.gif

Murph, you gotta lay off smoking those Iowa corncobs, so you know when you see a great football game... stooges.gif

Yep, Tennessee losing to the Rams in the last second.

What made that game even more amazing, was that just before, Kurt Warner had made an amazing TD pass to put the Rams ahead, but then Tennessee stored back looking for the tie.

And just when it looked like we'd see the first OT in the SuperBowl, the receiver is stopped at the 1or 2 yard line.

Simply amazing game, and the cap to the biggest Cinderella sports story ever, as Kurt Warner won both the League and Super Bowl MVP's.

It was Tennessee vs St Louis, and in reality he really wasnt that close to the end zone. He was down at about the 5 yard line, which is where the ball would have been spotted, but what everyone sees in the replay is him stretching the ball out AFTER he was down to be a yard short of the endzone.

He was actually, 5 or so yards short.

A game is made up of 2 halves. If one half sucks, and the second one is good. The first half STILL SUCKED. The half a game was good, the rest was sleeping.gif

u don't appreciate good football. the game is not all offense. There were some great plays being made in the 1st half and the game was tight. Good D. Good strategy.....awesome game!

Most Super Bowls end up being Super Duds, so this one was pretty close to the best almost by default. My pick for best ever, though, remains Super Bowl XXXII - John Elway and Terrell Davis beat the heavily favored Pack, 31-24, in a gritty, gutsy performance.

Yeh, because I don't enjoy games that end in a 6-3 score. I don't appreciate good football. lol. I don't enjoy, nor do I think the masses enjoy, a defensive game. Low-scoring and lack of moving the ball are uninteresting, unless you're a fan of the team. Very similar to why women's basketball is oging belly up. Unexciting, low scoring, most defensive.
