NM 98, picked up cheap in a second hand store

Hi all,

 

Couldn't believe my luck at the weekend when I visited the parents in the North East. Popped into a second hand bookstore and found a box full of what I thought was just low grade damaged issues, when I found this little gem. I'll be keeping it as a reading copy (I've already got a raw in a much better condition).

 

I'd have a stab at 9.0 if it wasn't for the black stripe along the left .

i think the wear on the back cover along the spine will hurt this book also...even if the front is cleaner, I don't think it can bet a 9.0 with the back cover problem.

Is it damage or print defects? Makes a HUGE difference

It appears to be a print defect.

 

The mark is exactly he same along it's full length, plus there is no variation between the glossiness of the mark and the overall cover, suggesting it did not occur after printing.

 

At least it acts as a means of attracting attention away from the all round rubbishness of the rest of the cover (Art, not condition).

 

Deadpool's shape in the pic is almost as bad as Leifelds Moob-cap cover!

I dont think the printing flaws will affect grade. The mangled corners however will.

That ink mark on the front cover looks production, the marks along the spine on the back cover looks like color rub. Great deal to find this book in a bargain box!
