Forum fun time. 5 things about your collection people didnt know

1) I enjoy reading Soap Opera strips (On Stage, The Heart of Juliet Jones) more than I do Adventure strips

2) I do not own a single book drawn by Jack Kirby

3) I rarely (read never) re-read a comic book. The only run of comics I've ever re-read is Sandman Mystery Theatre.

4) I don't like Super-Heroes

5) I have all the Conan comics ever published (in one form or another)

1. You can count all of the books I own on 2 hands.

2. I don't read any of the books I buy.

 

That's about it. What more is there to tell about a "collection" that isn't much of a collection at all.

1. I like to collect #1 issues

2. I have stacks that need boards and bags

3. I have many collecting focuses which change frequently

4. I still buy moderns but usually only read TWD

5. I write the date on a box when I last changed all the bags/boards in a box

2. Have been a Frazetta fan for over 35 years (off and on, took a few breaks)

3. Probably own way too many books/comics/mags with Frazetta covers or work.

4. Restored old muscle cars as a hobby for about 25 years before getting back into comics.

5. Spend way too much time here. (obviously)

1. I have a total of five long boxes (two of them are the books I collected as a kid)

2. My oldest Spider-Man book is a # 4 with the bottom 1/3 of the cover missing.

3. I own only one slab that I intend to keep. (It's a Secret Wars 8)

4. Ongoing titles I collect are ASM, TWD, and Nova. (I'm really hoping Darkhawk stays in the title)

5. I have a full run of the original Darkhawk series including annuals.

1) I started out reading Batman comics, since I thought Archie was for teenagers (I was like 4 or 5 at the time).

1. I have turned my entire collection over - down to nothing - twice.

2. Over the past 35 years I've owned every Marvel comic published since 1955 at one time or another with the amazingly notable exception of Journey Into Mystery 83. Why? Who knows.

3. I am putting together a complete set of EC's "New Trend" titles, but am doing it one title at a time. I've finished Haunt of Fear, Crime SuspenStories, Shock SuspenStories, and Tales from the Crypt, and am now working on Vault of Horror.

4. I have been dealing comics/art since about 1978 - the only thing I ever regret selling was an original art page by John Totleben.

5. I need to get rid of about 60 long boxes of $1 books.

1 - My grade school collection was in my parent's basement for 20 years, which was my hiatus in the hobby - they were in the same shape I left them, including my ASM 252 that graded 9.0 and was well read

2 - I smell all unslabbed comics that I buy

3 - My friend Richard got me into comics when I was in 5th grade - I read X-Men 94-105 & Hulk 181 from his collection then

4 - I collected Marvel 2 In 1 instead of more collectible bronze age keys

5 - I thought GA comics were extremely rare until I got on these boards

I usually read TWD in my car prior to leaving the LCS parking lot.
