Schmell is selling off his FF #1 CGC 9.4?

67 posts in this topic

Maybe he bought it for himself.

Yeah, but is the WM #1 still a 9.2 or is it a 9.4?

The WM 9.2 is in his registry set now. No copies of #2, #5, or #6 anymore. Sure just a matter of time.

I'm pretty sure he's got a 9.4 of #6 to replace the one being sold. Don't know about the rest....but there's a 9.4 of #5 in the auction.

Isn't that the Mound City copy that was auctioned last month?

Yes.. it got upgraded to a 9.4 from a 9.2 when Mound City had it and it just sold on Clink for a good amount lower then what its at right now (49.5K). Pretty ugly copy if you ask me with the dust shadow along the right side of the book.

I think Doug bought the Mound City FF #5 and it sold on his site in the last auction as a 9.4 IIRC...or did it not meet reserve? The book was never on Comiclink.

oh ok my bad. I knew the book came up for sale as a 9.4 recently but forgot that Doug was the one who got most of the amazingly stupid Mound City upgrades. Must not have met reserve, or did it. or it didnt and was relisted. or it did and was not reported to GPA. or it did and the consignor put it right back on the site. or it did etc etc..

It appears that he's also got his copy of #6 CGC 9.6 in there too.

Used to be my copy. :(

I've heard. :gossip:

Sold too soon, and as it turns out, way too cheap. :(

Your Uncle Scrooge made up for it. :shy:

I prefer to dwell on my failures rather than my successes. Keeps me meaner.

I should add that the FF #6 is flat out gorgeous.

Wasn't it Cr-OW? Junk. :baiting:

Pretty good intelligence on a "mere" SA Marvel! :baiting:

Of course, that was on an old label book. Which means it could be a white pager today! lol

...or a green label.

:D

Sold for $2201. What did Doug pay for it, $20K or so?

He paid 28K for the 9.6 I believe....sold it for 175 K ...PLUS the 9.4....so i guess he got the 9.4 for free....wow, what a concept. GOD BLESS...

So has it been potentilized or can it be squashed? It really is a pretty book. I wonder how it compares to the 9.6?

It was prettier than the 9.6 in that the 9.6 was not as white even though it was technically a higher grade.

Am I the only poster who is puzzled by the fact that a seller can offer high priced books and not show scans of the back covers? (shrug)

Are they available and I need a lesson in how to use the site?
