Good note: picked up a nice ST 110 on eBay yesterday...worked behind the scenes to pick up keeper copies of ASM 9 and 15...

Looks like I'm in the next round. Bitter sweet because my girl lost by just 5 points.

 

That FF47 threw me off as I graded it 8.5 as well. I think grading 2 of the others perfectly is what saved me.

I graded that FF #47 an 8.5 as well (like a lot of other people did) almost solely because of what appeared to be a rather long finger bend along the top edge of the back cover. So was that an illusion or what?

That F.F. 47 killed me,I could swear there was a bend in the back,an impact bend on the lower left front cover,and even some staining on the front and back.Certainly the book received a gift grade IMO.

On the FF47, I could swear that there's a tiny tear at the right edge of the finger bend.

 

Take a look at the edge of the light reflection on the finger bend. It should form a smooth arc, but at the right side the bend suddenly turns 90 degrees due north. It forms a sharp, vertical line at the right side of the bend. Which indicates to me that it's a small tear.

Oh good lord. This is torturous. I whizzed through the books in the opening round and did ok. Now i'm staring at the Marvel Premier 15 forever and have decided on about 5 different grades. Now i'm thinking about it too much and psyching myself out. it. I'll go with my first guess.
