Top 10 Marvel Coppers?

306 posts in this topic

What about the big three in the "Last Issue" craze, Transformers 80, G.I. Joe 155 and, um, hell, what was the third one?

I recall them being hot for some time.

Dang, now I can't remember what the third title I was thinking of was.

doh!

Maybe Star Wars 107?

Conan

Conan 275 is dated 12/93, so I would consider that book just into the early stages of the Modern Age, and not a Copper Age book.

Some believe the Copper Age ended with the "death" of Superman, 1/93.

While these books are legitimately difficult to obtain (except on ebay for commensurate prices) the only reason...and I do mean only....is because of the "last issue fad" that sprang up in the late 90's.

Those books are valuable for no merit of their own, but rather the fact that Marvel didn't publish another one. There are lots of books that are rarer than a Transformers #80, or a Star Wars #107, or even Joe #155, but which are ignored because they're not "the last issues."

If Transformers had been published to #85, no one would care about #80....which would be worth what #75 is....

Is New Teen Titans 2 (Deathstroke)

MARVEL, Rodney...

;)

doh! I still think Avengers 196 should be up there. Copper is sort of about the rise of the baddies.

:roflmao:

#196 over 195. 196 first full app and cover. That always seem to trump the first brief app or cameo. :baiting:

Its a much more coveted book and more $$$. Don't know if its definately TOP 10 because it hasn't been clarified as stated prior.

Along with the Darkhawk #1, I do want a couple of other books on comicalgems list:
