Hopefully this adds enough options on scarcer books to give us a view of which are considered tough to track down in high-grade condition (if at all).

Even better if folks vote on an option because they truly know the market challenge.

I added Cheval Noir #17, even though the Stevens art is the Rocketeer card. It's a tough high-grade find.

3-D Zone #16 popped in the registry most probably due to all the fantastics on here going nuts over this book, and digging through any comic box, website, and "friend of Thomas Jane" contact (Ray Zone - creator of the 3-D Zone series - likes to brag he is friends with Thomas Jane) they could hit up for a high-grade copy. But it still comes up rarely for sale.

To quote Yoda, "There is another book."

Stevenites...a point debate in the Registry forum raise this question from me. This is the more approprIate thread for it...

What DS books would you consider the Top 5, or Top 10 if you're willing, rarest/hardest to find books in the set? Curious what everyone thinks...

Are we going strictly by the "comic book" format?

3-D Zone 16

Twisted Tales 1 (Eclipse, 1987)

Seduction of the Innocent Non-3D 1

Venus Domina 1

Cheval Noir 1

Those are the ones I voted for... Also, I just did a census analysis of the comics currently in the "Dave Stevens Cover Set". This might help ya'll out...

Is the Movie Star News on the list of harder to Find? I don't see it that often.

:sorry:

I tried to include 20 books, and missed this one.

By the way, sorry I didn't say this sooner but I responded on my Blackberry. NICE PHOTO!

I know there is at least one out there but I would have put Quack in that list too. Just don't see them in high grade for sale.

I had it on the list - no kidding. But then I checked the registry and saw some had hit the census. Plus Dice has a strong 9.6-9.8 going into CGC.

It's the only copy I've ever personally seen above 8.5. It's no doubt tough in high grade.

I was going to include 3-D Zone 16 second print, which is a price variant. I think one boardie has a copy (Mayor?), but I could be wrong. None have been graded.

I have a copy as well, these are hard to find in any condition.

Could you post a picture of the book? Seriously - I've never seen one before, though Ray Zone emailed me about a few he had available.
