WDC&S 58

Cover with Our Heroes doing the "Spirit of '76" march, promoting the sales of war bonds. Classic WWII Disney cover.

Book is decent enough, with Helen's sigs, general wear, slight spine roll. Solid lower grade copy.

July 5th, and it's hotter than blazes here in Michigan, but I'm going to try to stick it out here in the steamy computer room and toss up a few more books.

First up:

Tom Mix Western 1, Fawcett 1948

Flat and square enough, but has a small tear uppe spine, and a light stain lower RH FC, matching stain lower LH BC, should be visible in scan. Long strip of tape along vertical edge inside FC, as far as I can tell there's absolutely no reason for it. Offwhite interior, with one page having a small piece out of outer edge, doesn't come near the art.

$75 takes it.

Our Gang 8

1st appearance of Benny Burro by Carl Barks, Walt Kelly art.

Just a reader copy, both the cover and CF are loose, but other than that a perfectly acceptable reader

$35 takes it

That's a relief ... the cartooning on the cover of Our Gang # 8 is aces. The expression on the bear is great on both front and back cover and the mouse is fantastic, without discounting the lion on the masthead. Still, can't afford the usury rates from Rick :baiting:

Not as many as you think, Scrooge! BEHOLD!

Our Gang 18

Nicer copy, with Helen's sig in ink, just a whiff of spine roll, two small tears on interior pages, couple chips out of LH BC

$30 takes it

Our Gang 22

Nicest issue of the three, despite Helen's double sig. Flat, clean, solid spine and CF, offwhite-white pages, decent gloss, but has the dust shadow and small chip upper LH FC.

$30 takes it

Looneyh Tunes and Merry Melodies 14

Early issue, has some minor chippings along spine and outer edge FC, otherwise a solid issue. Signature-and-a-half from Helen, couple penciled pages interior, and inside the front cover is some sort of light stain, almost looks like water, except it doesn't affect the outside of the FC. Weird.

$30 takes it

Looney Tunes 37

Halloween cover, with a Helen sig that annoys me more than most, right on the gibbous moon! Drat. Two more bonus signs pretty much hidden in the blue cover.

Other than that a pretty copy, minor general wear, tight spine and CF, offwhite pages.

$25 takes it
