Last year a 1.0 sold for $26k, this year one sold for $44k- an $18k increase. Pre-Robin Tec's were hot this year. This just shows again that always waiting around for the next "prettier" copy can cost you a lot more money in more ways than one. -J. DK got it right in that a CGC 1.0 graded copy had sold for $43,505 back in June of 2016: https://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?referral=EAlist&id=666486&title=DETECTIVECOMICS But to be more exact, it was not another copy that had sold, but rather the exact same CGC1.0 graded copy. So, I guess not so much as a $18K increase in price for the 'Tec 31, but rather only a < $500 increase in price. Or a marginal loss to the seller once you factor back in the seller's auction fees on the book. In September, 2017, a different 1.0 copy sold for $44k. That is an increase of $18k in one year. Or, if I choose to parse the data your way, in a mere 18 months, it increased by about $24,000 comparing the sale for $19k in late November 2014 and the sale for $43,505 in June, 2016 that you cited above. So yeah, like I said, these Pre-Robins have just been hot. -J. Edited January 7, 2018 by Jaydogrules

Yes, but if you click on the above link, you'll clearly see that the exact same $44K copy from September of 2017 had sold for $43,505 back in June of 2016. Hence, an increase of only $495 for the seller before factoring in the auction fees.

Someone is unloading ... Not necessarily the case here as there are multiple copies of the same issues here. Maybe just a case of consignors now finally realizing that CC appears to be the go to site for pre-Robin 'Tec books, as based upon the past record results which they have been able to obtain on behalf of their clients for this key subset of in-demand books. Well, it's rather simple as you would only be cannibalizing your own sales with multiple copies of the same book being made available at the same time. Dark Knight
Yeah I understand that there are multiple copies available but they are also in different grades and labels which can fit a wider spectrum of buyers and not just focused on buyers who collect at certain grades/labels. I don't think the final sale price of say a 6.5 would affect a 2.5 copy in a negative way.
