I mentioned in another thread that a special origin thread would be nice to see. I also posted a Yankee cover which someone thought starred a strange character who deserved mention here. He is kind of a Frankenstein version of a hero make up of different parts from several World War I verterans. All had different religous and ethnic backgrounds but the pieces together made a superhero after innoculation with a little special serum. Kind of a nice idea which was ahead of it's time...but after Captain America.

I also liked this Mr. Justice origin.

And the first and last appearance of Solomon Grundy.

I am very fond of those three DC origin issues. I would like to have a better Batman 47 but still have two Superman 53 issues and the Wonder Woman issue was not too expensive. I think I got it from Lem at Golden Eagle.

Thanks again Lem!

Another Bruce had an origin story in Red Raven 1. This was probably the highlight of Red Raven if you ignore the Mercury art by Kirby. Human Top by Dic k Briefer.

Having a helluva time finding a nice WW 45. I'm working on a Bat #47, and Superman #53 seems relatively plentiful.

Advertisement for the First Young Allies issue which was changed before it was published because Stalin switched sides. And preceded to kick the stuffings out of the Wehrmacht.
