no magic...none on the tec 27 either...that was as "obvious" as the nose on my face lol (got a big red zit on it, I look like rudolf)...and it was obvious to a bunch of other folks too, which is the reason is went up over 83K at the time (thumbs u

I think many may feel that the 10K difference would be worth it given the differential in grade between the two; but what if 8-9K is all one had to spend on a grail?

I'm not saying that is the case as I don't know who bought the book; but I think back to the topic of what book would you buy with 5-7K and think to myself...that might be the absolute peak of how much someone could save up.

If I had 9K and that was it, I think I would have bought that Superman #1 in a heartbeat (even in its given condition).

As Bat-Man said, I don't know if we'll ever see a complete unrestored copy of Superman #1 go that low again. (shrug)

It was a fantastic presenting copy no doubt. Glad it got it's bump.

I think the big issue here is you may never see a more beaten up complete Superman #1 again.

If I were the buyer (and dammit, I wish I saw it that low, I had it pegged for $10K easily) I would have it restored so I could at least hold and enjoy it and I would no doubt factor that into my final bid. Really a serendipitous event if you're the buyer, but no doubt the buyer also anticipates the need for further "maintenance costs" on the book. Let's call it a "fixer upper" and I strongly believe most of these books are already sitting in the purple holders they all eventually will/must go to.

.5 for that Superman #1 is too kind. .1 is more like it.

I wouldn't want a book like that in my collection for a quarter of that price.

I have to agree...

All kidding aside, as long as the new owner is happy with the book, that's all that really matters. (thumbs u
