The list includes A listers, B listers, C listers, D listers, etc. Post your opinions!

 

My opinion:

 

A listers:

Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Wolverine, etc.

 

B listers:

Captain America, Green Lantern, Flash, Iron Man, Hulk, etc.

 

C listers:

Aquaman, Spectre, Green Arrow, Sub-Mariner, Human Torch, etc.

 

D listers:

Black Terror, Black Hood, G-Man Extraordinaire, Hangman, Fighting Yank, etc.

Hard to knock too much on the initial list. However, I would put Wolverine in the B list with only the four mega stars in the top slot.

 

 

A listers:

X-Men, Fantastic Four

 

B listers:

Teen Titans, Justice League, Avengers

 

C listers:

Challengers of the Unknown, Doom Patrol, Defenders, Alpha Flight

 

D listers:

Blackhawk, Boy Commandos, SHIELD

 

E listers

Seven Soldiers of Victory

D listers:

You're probably right, Mr. Sinister feels like a C lister, and Stryfe more of a D lister, and Juggernaut is definitely a notch above Stryfe.

Actually, based on what I see above, I think only Batman, Superman and Spider Man belong as A-Listers. Maybe the X-Men if you consider them as a whole.

Go with the Muggle test. Ask a Muggle to name a superhero. You'll get (in no particular order) Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, the X-Men, and (probably) Wolverine. Ask a Muggle to name a villain,and you'll get the Joker, the Joker, the Joker, the Joker, and the Joker.

Robin, Iron man, Hulk, X-men, WW, GL

 

C list

 

FF, Titans, Silver surfer, Thor, Daredevil, JLA

 

D list

 

Hawkman, Green Arrow, JSA, Green hornet...

 

Of course, it depends which age we are talking about. From comics sales point of view, GL would move to A list and actually Sup down to B list :screwy:

I struggled with Wolverine in between A and B. But for the most part people know him widely and when they think X-Men they think Wolverine. So in my opinion he makes it into the A list just barely. After Spider-Man, Wolverine seems to be the top recognized Marvel character I've seen.

Now should this list comprise who we personally like? Or who is most recognizable? Or who is most used? If so, I think The Avengers and Deadpool need to get a bump. Otherwise I'm all for Nova, Moon Knight, and Darkhawk getting some A list spotlight.

 

 

I think majorly it's whom is the most popular, recognized, and most in mainstream over the span of comics. Not just currently.

 

If I was thinking current lists, Iron Man might be in the A list since he's popular right now. But I think overall he's a B list.
