Comic book store franchises?

7 posts in this topic

Only one I know of is Million Comics, but then you'd be " working for the con-man". You might as well burn your money as give it to him.

There were a few- Hero's World and Comics International come to mind, but they are long gone.

Dragon's Lair franchise info

David Wheeler of Dragon's Lair is a really nice guy. He presented at San Diego about his franchise effort:

Branching Out: The National Comic Book Store Franchise—David Wheeler (Dragon's Lair, TX and WA) talks about his emerging national franchise of comic book stores and the challenges and benefits of operating multiple locations, along with two-store owner Carr D'Angelo (Earth-2 Comics, Sherman Oaks and Northridge, CA). The panel is aimed at retailers who are interested in opening a second store and also at new entrepreneurs who are interested in joining a new national franchise.

Just visited vintage stock; looks pretty cool! I will at least contact them and get some info. Thank you comicalgems!

Yes, each branch seems to have their own level of emphasis on a particular type of product. Several of them are heavily involved with used DVDs and minimal comic back issues, whereas other branches will have tons of both.
