And "Josie & The Pussycats"....really Watson? I like my "teammates", but why did I have to get a Hanna-Barbera cartoon?

I guess you three could also be Brenda, Taffy and Dee Dee. hm

Flee, are you using Adobe's illustrator, flash (trace bitmap) or another "toon" render? Did you have to do any clean-up work? This is an outstandingly good photo to toon-rendering if it was completely generated by a software, without any need for touch-up.

It was all done in Photoshop. I removed the color component, upped the

contrast and then reduced the opacity. On a layer above the images I lightboxed

the outlines and the facial features. On the Roy image, I added the hair because

in the original photo, he had it pulled back in a ponytail. I then filled in the spaces

with black and gray colors. :)

I wish there was a toon render that could do this quickly.

Nice work. Have you tried Flash's trace bitmap feature?

:o That's more than a little frightening and eerily accurate at the same time.

I've played around with it and Illustrator's Live Trace. I've also used

Topaz Lab's Simplify filter too. A lot of times I will try many routes

to see which one produces the best result and then clean it up

from there.
