Your design looks great, I do have one thing to point out though...

As my brother that lives there likes to point out there is no such place

to live at that is called "Tampa Bay"...

The city is called Tampa. I guess the Buccaneers are to blame for that

bizarre misrepresentation.

Anyway, I hope the show goes well. In advertising, the main thing to keep in mind

is the true success of a design in the success of the intention it was created for.

I personally like it, as well as many of the fine folks here on the boards

and hope that this design make the big draw!

The show is a regional one not tied to a specific city. The location

for this show is actually in Largo, FL. Tampa Bay refers to the area

that includes Tampa, Clearwater, St Pete, etc. Hope this clears up the confusion. (thumbs u

I know what you are saying, but as in Buccaneers example, do they play in the bay?

Nope they play in Tampa, Fl.

Maybe the original intention of the Bucs was to have their games on a large ocean liner so they could quite literally play while on the bay. :insane:

Flee has done a great job with the commercial and other graphic design elements for the convention! His creative talent knows no bounds!

o.k. here's a bigger question that I take from the commercial and bench

is it a given that the Minnreg Convention Hall is in Largo???

Not to harp on this, and it could be said that folks can go to the website

but I didn't see it mentioned and people would have to go to the site to know

if they didn't.

If it is a given then disregard.

No I am just trying to uncover something in an mild way...

If you had someone look at these ads they would say they beautiful

and I would say they are correct.

BUT unless they were familiar with the area, would they know to go to Largo

based off these ads?

It like if I named a con The NC Triangle Con. Where is it? Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, RTP???

The Minnreg Convention Hall is in Largo, but is it general knowledge, like, say, the Staples Center is in downtown LA, no, probably not.

And I would imagine that yes, driving traffic to the site is by design.

If you've attended the Tampa show over the last 2 years, you know where to go. If you don't, you'll have to visit the website to find out.

Another item of note: this is the last time the show will be in the Minnreg, so they probably didn't want to plaster those benches with a location that will be no good come the next show date (which is in February).

See my response above as to why they aren't advertising the location clearly in every ad.

The purpose of the commercial is to drive people to the website where the address and exact location can be found.

Well that is cool, but as a tip (if anyone cares)

I would add the actual location.

People are too lazy and you have to strike while the iron is hot.

Let's just say for example there is a snowbird that is on vacation and sees this ad

and would like to pick up a Hulk 181 for his grandson, he may make it there or not.

Usually in any ad you want to hit the viewer over the head with a sledgehammer

and leave no questions that they have to gather from anywhere else.

You guys bought the spots so it's up to you.

Being the ad design biz for over 20 years this is my feedback.

Looks great though!

o.k. I am hip about the benches, but there could be different voice overs

in the commercial right?

As like a last line where you state the location, because the person listening to it might

go "wow, that is right next to where I have that go to –––––––––––––, and I can pick what I need

while I am there".
