I'm seeing some spine ticks and there is something on the top edge, ding ?

9.6 at best. The trouble with books from this era is they are not worth slabbing anymore unless they are a definite 9.6 with a chance at 9.8 .

Agreed, but it doesn't make it any less the 9.6 . . .

I count 12 spine stress marks on the back cover, how is this a 9.6 or even a 9.4? The only reason they're not color breaking are because it's a white back cover...

 

corners are very very nice and back cover color is excellent.

Yah, those creases are definitely there. Look at the black area on the front cover about 1/3 of the way up the spine. Pesky little white crease. Gorgeous corners though. I'd say 9.0 to 9.2
