"Superman" Andy Warhol print & $750,000 worth of Art stolen

13 posts in this topic

Hmmm lets see, insure your 200k collection at 750K.

Have guy break into apt (naturally armed with security cams)

Jewelry/ art stolen and, of course, the security tapes too.

"Hey officer I had security tapes! OMG someone took them "

Tell friend to burn the art, because now its nothing but trouble.

Collect insurance. FUN TIMES!

mutantkeys isn't smart enough to take the expensive stuff. I would be checking to see if the porn and nudie mags are missing. Check the bathroom for DNA evidence.

Appraisals mean nothing. I can insure a 25k painting for $200k with an appraisal. If there is a claim they'll look at FMV and not your appraisal. Good luck getting them to pay too.

It's obvious the perp knew exactly what was in there, the security and what he needed to remove the property. The perp was in this apartment legitimately for an extended period of time. He would have been someone that could navigate the building without raising suspicion. Someone that could stash the art somewhere until it could be safely removed. It may still be in the building. He knew he had time to make the hole, remove the art from their frames and had time to do a little extra shopping. He also knew he would be relatively safe in doing all of the above.
