How do I tell what printing this is?

Open the book where the information regarding DC Comics, where there address and all that jazz is located. Usually on the first couple of pages, bottom of the page. It's listed in there which printing....

It's called the indicia:

Awesome, it is a first print I think. The indicia does not indicate otherwise, I knew to reffer here but some reprints I have dealt with lately do not indicate reprint in the indicia. For example, the hulk 333 JC penny 1993 reprint.

I'm not sure if it's like this on the Superman TPB but I've seen it on some hardbacks.

 

Books usually show the printing by a series of 10 numbers at the bottom of the title page (with all the publishing info). The lowest number shown is the printing... 12 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3. This would be a 3rd printing.

Ok I looked inside the cover again, it clearly indicated first printing inside the cover. It is not in the indicia but near the middle of the page.

Does it really matter if this is a 1st print or not? It's reprints anyway.
