X-Men #94... Rare???

20 posts in this topic

Hey, gang...

I was wondering, i just snagged a 9.2 X-Men#94 and was wondering how rare is this thing, I have like five copies of it in various grades and see it on e-bay all the time going for a little under guide in all grades... I remember reading in the Overstreet mag back in the day that it was much harder to find than the Giant Size#1, is this true or is it just another comic book urban legend like Night Nurse#1

Also, what else is or was considered hard to find in the bronze age, but is really easy to dig up... and don't say Debbie's Dates(DC) Bronze#1, cause it ain't.

The X-men movie made a lot of #94's come out of the woodwork, and they have never gone away.

There is another tread on the boards about HTF Bronze Age,, I think DrBanner started it, consensus was that Marvel team-up #1 was THE hardest Bronze book to find in HG....plenty about in low grade though

B/c of the hi-guide value & higher demand, ppl always slab X-men 94 b4 MTU 1. Due to MTU #1 being released way back in 1972, the attrition rate is higher. Also, fewer comicshops in 1972 backstocking them compared to X-men 94 or X-men 100 in 1975 up.

X-MEN #94 IS EASY TO FIND UP TO 9.2. AFTER THAT, THERE ARE A FEW 9.4'S AND ONLY 7 GRADED 9.6'S AND NO 9.8'S OR HIGHER. THESE ARE THE FACTS AND SHOULD TELL YOU HOW EASY OR HARD THIS ISSUE IS FOR ANYONE WONDERING ABOUT THIS BOOK.

shhhhh...Your talking too loudly oh anonymous one. The majority of the high grade copies are in the hands of the collectors who have no desire to put there books in a plastic tomb. Don't be lulled into the belief that there are few ultra high grade copies of this issue out there. smirk.gif
