CBCA ComicCollecting.Org - Someone give me the low down

Is it worth registering for the forum over there?

I noticed an "Application" page and a fee attached - is that required to be completed and paid to register for the forums?

How is the website, the flow, do you use it often?

Thanks!

You don't have to pay to post. You do have to pay to be a member and take advantage of member discounts which includes a members only forum.

Well, it costs $20 a year to be a paid member. You save 5% on collectors insurance. I believe Susan C. offers a 10%? discount to CBCA members. We are currently working on other discounts as well. There's the CBQ (comic book quarterly) You also are given the opportunity to work on current projects, or a project of your own.

Whats the point though. Like you guys said most of the members are members here as well except for Marnin and Brad, maybe a few others.

This place has more than enough comic info and its all free. There is also very little traffic there.

Well, other than being more then just a chat board, there is a mission statement and overall purpose to the CBCA. Where as we do not run around cramming ourselves down everybodies throats, we do try and promote education, ethics, and fellowship within the hobby. There are projects being taken on by our membership that include grading workshops at conventions, speaking at colleges (discussing history), a new grading guide, etc.. There is certainly alot of smaller projects as well. The biggest thing about the CBCA is it is NOT censored, like here. And we are really trying to be more then just a chat board. (thumbs u
