As the ONE guy who voted for Hawkeye, ill say this.... I just read Avengers 117( i think it was) in the Avengers Essential and Hawkeye squared off 1 on 1 vs Iron Man, whooped his and made off with the piece of the Evil Eye that they were both trying to get while Iron Man tried to figure out how to keep his armor from melting away from an acid arrow!

I didn't want to address the inevitable complaints I would have gotten had I left them off the list - especially since my list would have then been bereft of women and black men. I therefore decided to let you the voter decide who is first tier and who is not.

You should have put which versions of the the characters ie. specific artists/writers as they are the ones who make or break a character.

 

Now if you were to say Walt Simonson's version of Thor vs. say Jack Kirby/Stan Lee Hulk - Thor wins hands down.

 

"Planet Hulk" Hulk vs. "Odin Force" Thor - now that would be some kind of batte.

 

Too bad "What If" isn't being made anymore, this would be a good read.
