I generally am a sucker for the comic 'big event' but Flashpoint is a bit much. There are 14 planned mini-series? This is nuts.

Yeah, I thought that too. DC is going to try and milk this as much as possible since Blackest Night was a success.

 

If anything, I'll just stick to the main book and only pick up the mini's that interest me.

I never bother with any of these "big events". I just buy the titles I usually buy and ignore all the rest.

"Big Events" are definitely starting to take the fun out of collecting modern DC and Marvels. At least there are plenty of independent comics to fill the void.

In this month's Previews there are 22 tie-in titles for Flashpoint. Utterly ridiculous.

I found Blackest Night interesting but that may be because it involved titles I was already getting and characters that I have always found interesting (Ted Kord, Max Lord, and even Aquaman). Another series where the writers can do whatever they like and simply pass it off as 'happening on Earth-9791' just feels of lazy writing to me.

Altered timelines / realities... 'Armageddon 2001' and 'Zero Hour' all over again.
