I just bought 2 from SW last week. Listed as NM/NM+ 893crossfingers-thumb.gif

Metropolis has overgraded a couple, but works with you to make things right without hesitation.

NM/NM+ usually means 9.0 and 9.2... confused-smiley-013.gif Let us know how it goes.

Probably from the new "Don Rosa collection" pedigree. Don is selling his 70s and later stuff on consignment through Steve Wyatt. I saw the HOM 193 CGC 9.8, HOM 194 CGC 9.6, and the HOM 200 CGC 9.8 among other books. Books will be exclusively sold through eBay under a new account --> believe it's "donrosacollection" and will start next Wednesday. Over 1500 9.4 and above books to be sold. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Issue #200 is very common relative to neighborhood issues. The 193 and 194 should do well...thanks to a Wrightson cover and relative scarcity in the census.

1500 9.4 books...that's just nuts. insane.gif

Nope...ll will be auctioned off via eBay over the next while. A new account called "donrosacollection" has been set up for it. Starts next Wednesday. They are going to mix out the titles so it's hard to say what's next. Not all the 1500+ books were there but I did also see a Super DC Giant 17,21 in 9.4 and 18 in 9.6. Also, a Witching Hour 38 in 9.8.

Too bad the raw Unexpected 118 "NM-" copy had a pull top staple. Nicest one that I've seen. However, I saw a CGC 9.4 copy for $200. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Well Greggy, you didn't tell the whole story. hi.gif Gregory and I chatted many times on the con floor as we were checking out alot of the same books and we both hung out at the Don Rosa collection for quite a while picking as many cherrys as we could find that were left. Beautiful collection. And yes, the dealers in charge sent in thousands of the earliest and key books to CGC with a 9.4 pregrade but left all the later books up for grabs. I overheard them saying that in sending in something like 2,500 books, only 300 didn't make the grade. BUT, what Greggy did not mention is that ALL unslabbed books WERE being sold at the con. And with a few exceptions this included every Marvel and DC from the late 60s to the mid 80s. Most were graded very accurately and all were priced exactly at guide. Although the slabbed books were just there to create interest, all the raw books were for sale and Greggy and myself both bought many. Although most of the keys were already gone I was able to buy many beautiful NM/NM+ books in all the DC horror runs. Most of these were within the 2nd half of the run in HG but I picked up a bunch of the earlier issues as well in VF- to NM- that didn't make the pregrade cut or were never considered for slabbing. Probably the most noted of the bunch I bought was HoS #81 although it was just in F+. I also bought the Treasury Editions of Ghosts and House Of Mystery, both the nicest copies I have ever seen. Grabbed a few of the digests too as Rosa collected all the oddsize books and mags as well. Anyway, I'll be going through all my books and pulling out the CGC candidates and sending them in.

All books contain a numbered COA and will receive the Don Rosa Collection Pedigree status when submitted to CGC as CGC has a copy of the master list with titles and cert. #s.

The con was fun. I'll write my full report later in comics general when I have time.

In case you haven't read it in the general section by now, the great artist Jim Aparo has passed away.

I posted this there, but I may as well here, too. This is probably my second or third favorite horror comic story. Read as a kid; had dramatic impact on me. From Hom 201. Classic. Sterling may post the whole story later.

Dang, just a sad, sad day for comicdom.....
