I wish my boardie friends and acquaintances would use my name, nearly all of them call me "chrome" or "chrom" (shrug)

How about Creameggium?

That sounds sexy AND delicious :cloud9:

I have a protocol question. This place is so dang friendly and so many folks know each other personally, either from shows or dealing with each other in sales, I was wondering...... Is is acceptable to call someone by their first name (because you know it from reading it so many time here) even if you have never met them ? I ususally don't like to, unless we've met.... but sometimes it just seems weird to write Vintage Comics instead of Roy ..... or NearMint instead of Jeff .....even though I've never met either of you two in person.

What a y'all think ?

I've been called much worse than Vintage Comics!

I'll use my best judgement and use whatever name fits the occasion although dork seems to work best around here.

Roy! You changed your ID. I had no idea that was you giving me crapp last week.

I thought it was just some other random troll. :baiting:

Does him being the same random troll you're already well-acquainted with change things for you? :taptaptap:

I don't, because of a few reasons:

1. It creates confusion amongst other members, who may not know who you're talking to/about. Probably not a problem for many, but still exists.

2. It tends to be exclusionary for newbs (I know, I know, they should develop thicker skin), and even under the best intentions, makes people feel left out.

Both of these things are pros, especially #2.

Many of the guys I've been talking to on here for years call me by my first name, and I do the same. It's fine, as long as you joined in 2008 or earlier. You gotta earn it, noobs.

Cretella often refers to you as his "little Belgian waffle."

After he polishes off that case of Cadbury Cream Eggs he got as a gift we'll be calling him "Fatty Fatty two by four, couldn't fit through the bathroom door".

But til then I'll just call him Mr Wertham.
