I didn't take a lot of pics. However, this pic basically sums up the show for myself, John (Spidey on Tilt) and Bob Storms following getting our grades back this weekend.

Highlights:

 

1) On Site grading is fantastic. CGC had their best on site grading profits ever per Paul Litch. Despite having an overwhelming number of books, they got them all processed. Fantastic job by the crew, and an encouraging sign that more on site may be on the horizon.

 

2) Lots of stuff to buy in the room. I actually didn't buy a ton of raw books. I found a lot of nice stuff that I wanted in slabs, and made two early deals on raw books. Bought some books from Dave Kapelka that turned out to be fantastic grades. I didn't submit all of them, but I did do well (grades will be listed below).

 

3) There were dealers I didn't get to this weekend, that I will circle back with in Chicago -- hopefully they're planning on coming to Baltimore.

 

4) Harley Yee was EVERYWHERE buying. I'll just say this, may have to up my game if I really want to compete.

 

5) I realized I never made Jedi Master, as Bob Storms kicked my a-- in terms of the books he was getting back/graded. My books were nice. He crushed me.

 

6) Spider Man on Tilt (John) also got some amazing grades. I think he sold some books before teh show even closed that he had done.

 

7) Had a fantastic dinner with Greg Reece and his son Alex, Dave Kapelka and his wife, Mary Ann, Bob Storms and Doc Joe.

 

8) Saw a ton of boardies. I'll just refrain from listing them, because I'm sure to miss someone.

 

9) Disappointed that there's no publisher presence and the mostly D list artist choice. Lots of people, but unlike the Reed shows, I feel it's a less "cool" show.

 

10) On Site Pressing was equally successful, for both Joey and Matt.

Nice haul, Brian. Will we be seeing another Foolkiller sales thread soon?

 

I'm not really sure at the moment. I'm sitting on a stockpile of stuff. In terms of the slabs, I may do something, I'm really not sure. I still have a lot of slabs from the last round I need to do, and I've got like 500 more books that need to be sent in at some point.

I'm amazed at how you guys find such HG raw comics. (worship) Even if a press is happening...still awesome grades for raw books.

 

The census is growing fast with HG slabs coming out of the woodwork.

 

Two 9.2 Avengers 4. :o What PQ? Just curious.
