Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

My takes so far on the recent moderns heating up:

PP #1- I just picked up 4 raw copies about a month ago. 9.0-9.4 at the highest. I think I'll wait a lil longer to see if they can squirm a little higher before selling.

Batman #13 direct edition- I see no problems picking up even more of these if I want as a LCS still had copies last week. I currently have 3. I think these will settle into the $5-8 range before long.

Batgirl #13 direct- Managed to get 2 9.8 copies. No more in my neck of the woods to be had. Saw a raw copy sell for $10 last week at LCS.

Catwoman #13- Sheesh- I got 1 copy, my LCS caught the second one in the stack, and took it from my pile. No more around here for sure. I see this book being the hardest to get of the prologue set. I'm gonna check for the newsstand variants 2morrow.

Valiants seem to be getting under-ordered, as I've had trouble getting more than 1 copy of Bloodshot and Harbinger for the last couple of issues. These could see a spike soon if the stories and art stay consistent. 2c

Walking Dead comics seem to be $10 a piece just for the more recent common issues, say #90-95-and selling consistently around here.

I was just browsing the ebay closed listings the other day and decided to look up some of those Virgin Comics runs. I saw more than one run of the first Ramayan series sell for at least cover, if not slightly over. Might be a fluke but who knows? I thought all these titles were $1 bin fodder.

Damsels #1: This book seems to be selling very well, albeit just not at insane prices-yet. #1 has some seriously limited colored sketch variants that could be atomic if the book garners way more attention.

Keep a lookout for Lookouts: Riddle, the web comic turned printed matter from Penny Arcade. This book is flying under the radar for now I think.

These are just some heating up, and speculatory opinions on my part.

Well I am finally going to roll the dice having done forum and reddit research... with the Double Midnight MLP variant. http://www.dmcomics.com/ . I think this one will be hot to trot. The Midtown variant, although still looking popular, smacks too much of self promotion in my humble opinion. Nothing too crazy but I am usually happy to speculate on something I think will net me double or better.

If your looking to roll the dice, then you have chosen correctly. Derpy is a fan favorite and the Double Midnight will defiantly be more sought after Derpy Midtown. However, don't discount Larry's Variant and Jetpacks Variant. The Rough Rider edition will do alright, but the really deal will be each of their covers separately. Many people will try to complete this set. Also if the mystery cover has Luna on it, that will probably outsell all other covers.

EEEEEEeeeee Niiiightmare MoooOOOn... well it's close enough post Halloween for it to be a possibility, that could work well. Fair enough, as far as this heating up on Ebay thread goes it looks like Larry / Jetpack / Double Midnight should be a good bet and to watch out for the last minute Variant #19 depending on the characters.

also..

Creating a variant for your shop is a negotiating process.

I can't speak for the other My Little Pony retailers, BUT

our variants are on the killer thick IDW cover stock...

They will be stunning..

Just curious why there's not more retailer variants for TWD.

now just wait a minute there doc...

"... I understand that Larry’s Comics is arranging a “revenge” variant cover for Bedlam #1, as well as My Little Pony #1, along the lines of the Ghost Variant comic which he was not invited to participate in, this time choosing his own friends and retailers to receive copies." - Bleeding Cool

To me that reads like Larry is the mysterious 19th Variant man :gossip:

Edit: Only because his current variant is not along the lines of the Ghost variant. It's well known...

Rich has it WRONG...( revenge variant )

As usual, he runs his site as a "rumor" site.

No effort to fact check.

He has my number & e-mail as I am a regular source for him, but it's more titillating this way.

I have posted several times that I was going to give the CGC boards the scoop first.

Thursday.

Believe what you like.
