It just means he has upped his maximum bid each time. The reason the bid hasn't changed is because the only a different bidder can force him to pay more.

I always believe this looks fishy. In all honesty if I was wanting to bid on your books, this sort of activity would put me off. The guy may actually be clever enough to know this and is exactly the effect he wants.

that what I am wondering why not just bid one or twice.

I am curious to see how it will play out.

His top bid is around $6.29.

He can't bid $1.04 then $1.04 then $1.04 then $1.04.

He has to bid the next bid increment which I believe is 25c?

then he has to re - bid another 25c etc etc etc.

I get this quite a bit, cancel bids, block bidder, move on.

It's just a way to put other bidders off & try to win the item for $1.04.

Other potential bidders will see this & think he really wants it so must have put in really high bids toward the end.

If his bids were days apart and only a few of them it may be legit but his are lots of bids seconds apart.

Definitely trying to get this on the cheap

Do you have the link to the actual item?

HERE

would have had some fun but it's no bidding from the UK :makepoint:

You can block bidders?

Well this is new.

Would it be a smart idea to block the guy or no?

Does it really matter? Most astute buyers use sniping services, so this guy can do this action 100 times, it won't have any impact on me. The only person it might affect is the inexperienced buyer, and maybe they'll get into a bidding war for you!

its a BIN, people make mistakes. The first slabbed comic i ever bought was an older X-Men 8.5, and i overpaid the "GPA" price by a lot, cause i didnt know what i was doing.

nice sale for the seller though.

So I go into a store today, they have popular title #1 on the shelf.

It came out last month. I couldn't find it so I asked for help and was pointed in the right direction.

There are 5 copies of popular title #1. "Do you have any more copies of popular title #1? All of these have stress marks"

"it doesn't matter. If it has stress marks or not its still worth $3.50."

"I have to say I disagree"

"well in three years when you come back here you can sell it to us for 5 cents."

Buy 1 terrible copy - put on ebay, sells for $10.

Thanks for the tip comic book store guy

I'm confused, so you ended up buying one and sold it on ebay for $10?

Bingo. But he didn't care that the comics he sells are in such bad condition! :(:S

When did comic books become about reading?! Hipster scum!

Seriously I hope you are kidding. You know how bad this reads as well as your above post? I am starting to believe the 90s are coming back.

Glad the books were in too bad a shape for the LCS to sell but apparently just right for you JL.

That was the main problem I had with his comment, the irony of questioning if the 90's had come back while commenting in a "moderns heating up" thread. He also told me he didn't like my rap videos so I am probably biased with having problems about his posts.
