I did not do it consciously. But it's way too much of a coincidence to be anything other than me remembering the phrasing and subconsciously regurgitating it. The fact that you even thought it was intentional is disturbing, though it is in conformance with past bad behavior on my part, so I can't fault you there.

CBT is cool with me!

Until he acts like a , or I do, and then I am back on Ignore.

To be fair about IM3: I really didn't like the way they handled the Mandarin. I'm a fanboy and when they really change stuff around like that it gets me all heated. Secondarily it seemed like there was just alot of unnecessary dialogue between Tony and others that appeared to be contrived and forced. An example of this is when that broad from AIM shows up on Tony's doorstep and he and Pepper are fighting like a married couple.

The rest of my displeasure was the fact that Tony was de-armored for almost 80% of the flick. I want to see Iron Man, not Tony Stark rolling around in an audi or whatever.

Some of the movie was clearly funny and intelligent, but it lacked the punch of IM1 for me. I was expecting a bit more in the wake of Avengers.

SS Revival sales

To me? $1.25 bub(Adam Sandler ref.). To the world, hard to say. Highest reg sale in the current data was $199, but no x3 there. Go to gpa maybe for it? Not sure if people care to pay more for x3, but i think there are a bunch coming from the recent con.I would think $225 would be a lock, there will be at least someone who wants to overpay versus the last sale.Personally, given where Blue 9.8s are. I think an SS should be $125ish, and your "x3" $150, but that's just me..... Seeley or Norton could keel over any day, you never know.

"Why don't you have another one!!!!!! You good natured lush"!!!!!!!Pat

Put this list together as per discussion of current pricing in five ghosts thread. Thought it wouldn't be inappropriate to drop it here as well:

I attempted to focus only on single issues first print of #1 regular and then phantom. There's many 'combined' auctions and BIN on Ebay, like "five ghosts megaset" and "regular issue + phantom". Also there appears to be alot of coupling with other comics such as East of West. So ultimately to determine pricing for five ghosts alone proves a bit trickier than you'd expect. Anyway

nowhere near a complete list, but some quickies from Ebay:

After seeing Iron Man 3, Iron Man comics should take a dive. They won't, but they deserve to.

All I can say is......WOW.......

I was NOT happy with Mandarin.

Ha! I thought Ben Kinsgsley stole the film! It was hard to sit through the rest. And what has happened to Guy Pierce? All he does now is destroy popular franchises or masterpieces like Lockout.

Ya, stole the film, and more importantly, the Mandarin's dignity.

Was it really that bad? Gonna see it tomorrow.

Personally, I thought it was a really fun experience to watch

Too many lame jokes. Too many "jokes" in general.

It wasn't HORRIBLE, like first hour I was getting sucked in, was very interested, then it kind of went all over the place.

84 sales above $25 listed in the public ebay history, with the highest being $46 back in February, just for some context:

Slabbed??? I'd buy that right now.

of course not, which is why it was the second largest opening in history, after only the Avengers.

Just because a movie has a big opening, doesn't mean it's a good movie. It means 1-It's a popular movie, and/or 2-People THINK it will be good.

So, are extremis and the Manadarin matched to the comics? no. Does that make it a bad movie, no. Nothing in the movies is the same as the comics, which is why it has its own Universe designation number from Marvel.

What is the point of changing something so radically though, if you already have a good concept??? It's like the Resident Evil movies (you have a good story already, and then you just make a totally new one for .....no reason).

Or superhero movies (let's just NOT put them in masks....because, or change costumes so radically, charaters, etc.....because).

I know the whole movie vs comic/game etc thinking (a la Walking-Dub), but there comes a point when you have to ask "Why not make different characters? Why even make it a "Superhero X" movie? (not saying Iron Man 3 was like that, save for the Mandarin), but a lot of these things end up being like that.

The movie is excellently written, acted, and executed, if you liked the others, you will like this one.

??? I mean, it was mediocre. I can honestly say, I havent read much Iron Man, but from what I have read, does he really joke around as much as Spider-Man does in the comics??? Writting and execution were so-so, but it was all over the place. No real focus after about 45 minutes in. Lame "jokes" if you want to call them that. TOO much "humour".

But that being said, anyone reading this thread should have learned long ago, all comics that see a bump from movies, subsequently drop after the movie. You sell into the launch, you dont hold after. That's regardless of ANY success or failure.

Si. Weird though. Why is there not more upswing if the movie/character is a success. Always wondered that.

It wasn't a bad movie, I agree. It was different, but well made.

However, I don't think I'd make the argument that since it sold a lot of tickets to people who (obviously) had not seen it yet equates to it being a good film on those grounds alone.

It did suffer from what several super hero movie sequels have, however.

Si to the ticket comment!

And ya, it was a solid average/mediocre movie. 2.5 out of 5 stars.

As my brother said, "Iron Man 3 was........a movie."

1-Yes to the Armour. It's Iron Man, not Skin Man.

2-The banter throughought the movie (quick little comments, under the breath, rapidly talking, going on with the little quips for 30 second to 2 min intervals), it was like they were trying to be a modern style comedy/Vince Vaughn/Kristen Wiig, all rolled into one.

I thought it was an good, not great movie. Better than Iron Man 2, worse than 1. There were probably a little too much quipping and joking, but that's kind of how Robert Downey Jr has played Tony in all the movies. Plus, Tony (movies) uses humor/sarcasm as a defense mechanism/way to keep people at a distance and they put him in a dark place so it was sort of to be expected. I've never read the much Iron Man on its own so the twist didn't ruin it for me, but I was sorta excited for the classic version so that was a little disappointing.

I think most people just wanted something as good or better than Avengers and anything less was gonna be a disappointment. If you look at the movie on its own, I'd say it was good and it wrapped up the trilogy nicely.

Professor X???

You read my mind.

I think though that they couldn't decide on whether they wanted a light-hearted movie, or a dark movie, and it kind of came out as :whee::devil: a jumble of both.

They originally were going to do a take on 'Demon in a Bottle' and show Tony's alcoholism. Apparently, the studio didn't want to portray the character as an alcoholic, so they switch it to anxiety attacks. I felt like that was a reasonable compromise.

I don't think anyone can honestly say it wasn't a fun experience to watch the film. I can, however, understand why fans would be upset that they strayed from the source material. I've learned to just try to let it go and have fun while watching

Gotta put this out there because I've got no idea:

Any remaining heat or potential heat for something like Comixology variants for Invincible 100 (limited to 500 copies) and WD 100?

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/02/22/comixology-surprises-comicspro-with-invincible-100-variant/

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/07/09/the-walking-dead-100-comixology-variant-hits-500/

I checked out previous sales on Epay and WD seemed to have some heat for awhile and cooled off. Invincible doesn't appear to have hit the same level of interest.

What's your take on these two issues currently folks?

Invincible variant will stay low because you can still pick up Invincible #1's for relatively cheap.
