i'm still looking back at the boxes of MTG Alpha i sold for cheap.

Did you REALLY?

I've hear that so many times, it's urban legend.

My shop was desperately trying to buy Magic at the time.

It was a to get wholesale.

I got Legends wholesale.

NO regrets.

i had 3 boxes of alpha decks...no one wanted them...i was way ahead of the curve at least at the conventions i was trying to sell them. I still remember trying to get some shop owners to play it, a lot of meh and blah.

And we are talking about what, less than 100 people in the world who dress up as one of these characters. Trust me, they don't impact the back issue market... But pumping the book on these boards does seem to have an impact on the prices.

I think you're vastly underestimating the number of cosplayers, especially women and the characters they portray. With that said though I do agree that I don't think they have a heavy impact on the backissue prices.

I agree. Heck, I only attend the Montreal and Ottawa cons and I've already seen more 50 different DEADPOOLs and HARLEY QUINNs in just 1 season...

It's ALL about the "boob window"

If you cannot grasp that.

You're gay.

( and there's NOTHING wrong with that )

Boobs = $

Sorry

Factoid. Jacktoid.

At Philly Wizard world last year, every Harley Quinn was fat

Yeah, and ever man dressed as Superman was an Adonis, right?

Just enjoy the fact that people of all shapes, colors & background enjoy cosplaying. They help spread the fun of being a comic fan. Nothing bad about that.

I'm sitting on a few copies of this comic. It is the first (and so far only) modern comic I speculated in. I bought my copies last year when I heard the announcement for the TV series for less than cover. I'm not sure what to do next though: send them to CGC for grading, put them up raw on eBay with a high BIN, etc. (shrug)

Unless you REALLY feel strongly about a title and feel comfortable sitting on them, it's always better to hedge your bets and sell a few early and hold a few for later, IMO.

I would go so far as to say sell a few now, a few just before show release and hold a few in case tv show is a hit (again, imo)

Less than a hundred? Your numbers are way off. Add a zero to that at the minimum for some characters.

Of course not, but Spidey's are.

DAMN the Walking Dead 127 summit variant is killing it on ebay. I am almost tempted to buy one for myself. I didn't think it would cost that much out of the gate though.

the new direction of the wd did nothing for me, same goes for the outcast preview.

That was the 1st time I've seen Outcast in comic form. Its a little ironic to me that it is included with a bunch of 1st appearances a lot like issue #61. Those appearances may or may not matter and only the story will tell but this could be an important book for more than 1 reason. (shrug)

Every electronica fest or comiccon, there is HQ. So if they every make a movie, she will have fans. She carries Suicide Squad that #1 sold for $20-30 quite frequently last year. The new series is weaker so sales will flag until some other writer does better. I am more worried about counterfeits than anything.
