Worst covers ever! What were they thinking?!?

71 posts in this topic

Let's get this thread back on track. Here's another one of the lamest ASM covers ever:

ASM347.gif

arts pretty cool.... but the quotes gotta go! 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Nope the quotes were written like that on purpose. It fits the concept of the art. It's from Hamlet when he holds of Yorick's skull and says, "Alas poor Yorick, I knew him well." Other than Venom looking slightly funky which a lot of artists have drawn him even worse I would probably add A LOT more books before I'd put that one up.

You've gotta be kidding me. His head and ESPECIALLY his jaw line are so stupid looking that I can hardly stand it. The lame Shakespeare reference does not help this pig. It is horrible.

lol This is actually one of my favorite covers. One of my favorite Modern Spider-man stories as well. thumbsup2.gif

gossip.gif Sorry for picking a nit, but what Hamlet actually says is: "Alas poor Yorick. I knew him, Horatio".

Just giving the Bard his due.

Eddie Brock was only an under study for Hamlet during his community theater days. So he didn't get a chance to truly memorize the lines. smile.gif

Here's a horrid one from about a year ago.

Even putting aside the horrendous artwork, all it needs is a cover blurb saying: "NOT a hoax! NOT a dream! THIS ISSUE - Spidey dials down the center!!!!"

Ok two things here:

1. Why with only the 2nd book did I actually have to log into Heritage? They're both similar porn-wise!

2. Can you imagine if DC had published this, AND Ian Levine was missing these 2 to complete the run? I can see it now...Only 8 books to go! Just missing "C YA Next Tuesday #1"!

1. I was thinking the exact same thing... go figure. I'd think the "C" word alone would merit an adult verification standard confused-smiley-013.gif

2. sign-funnypost.gif

One of the worst DD cover:

The worst DD cover ever was the yellow one with Wolverine on the cover. Anyone have a scan/know the issue number? I want to say 198, but I really don't know.

These two covers represent everything I hate about Byrne. Took a grand tradition and turned it into Not Brand Ecch! Vol. 2. And check out all the [!@#%^&^] on the cover of 238.....I'm surprised that they had room for Alicia's right ankle in there. Or is it her left....never can tell with Byrne.

PLUS - since I'm on my Byrne Rant - I HATE THE WAY HE DRAWS KIDS LIKE MIDGETS, and his women look like ET drawn with boobs!

Not quite the World's Greatest Comic Magazine as far as these two issues.....not quite up to the the Kirby/Sinnot 48 through 60 run........

There I said it.
