On site grading

Where did you see that?

CGC is running an ad in the Mega Con 2012 program. The ad says Visit

our booth to submit comics for on site grading or to have your comics signed

and submitted for the prestigious CGC Signature Series. It does go on to say

Stan Lee Signature Series books are not eligible for on site grading.

That makes absolutely no sense. Even if they were going to grade onsite (which would be awesome for the attendees if they were) why would they not do the Stan Lee books. Where are you getting this information?

Man, that is awesome for the S. Florida crew. I wonder if they are going to knock out Chicago or Philly for that one?

I still can't see why they wouldn't do Stan on-sites.

I'm going to remain positive and hope this just means that CGC is doing more on-site shows this year - having on-site at C2E2 would be friggin' awesome :wishluck:

my guess is Desert Wind? I think I recall the same issue at Baltimore this year.

There was no onsite grading at B-More, though. They have only done Chicago and Philly for several years now.

More or less, although they did the Wizard NYC show in 11-2009 IIRC as well.

Only reason I can think they are doing Mega Con is because Orlando is literally a couple of hours away making the logistics inexpensive and easy. No flying, no extensive shipping of machinery, no days off necessary for employees. It's actually a good idea if CGC wants to see some quick revenue.

I wouldn't expect this to start happening at many other shows around the country that are further away.

If they're grading onsite in Mega Con it's going to be awesome.

MegaCon was not on my list to attend, but now is as a result of on-site grading.

Don't be too sure about more shows being added at some point in the future.

Paul has turned on site grading very profitable and is enthusiastic about maintaining that momentum.
