Now I can accept the fact that kelholt's 8.5 is a book I'll never own, but I am shocked (shocked!) to see that cheetah has a 4.0 brittle book in his collection!

Think how lonely she must be having to live amongst all those 9.somethings and pedigrees... :(

She should be allowed to live with her brittle and water damaged sisters in my collection :sumo:

It looked like an 8.5 C/OW when I submitted it. First time it came back a 3.5 brittle so I did a straight resub at WW Chicago and got a 4.0 Brittle. Really sucks coz it is a very pretty book. There's no damage or chipping anywhere and it has great cover gloss. I'd sell it to you if I had a decent replacement.

Holy #$%^& -- copper and lead-- a classic double-element cover!

You're not going to convince me that daughter is related to "Ma."

In fact, I suspect that "Ma" is really "Pa." Good ol' Shelly.

Thanks for posting this cover.

Jack

True Comics # 1 - http://www.comics.org/issue/1368/cover/4/

and Real Heroes # 4 - http://www.comics.org/issue/262509/cover/4/

I vaguely recall a Churchill kidnapping cover -- possibly by Schomburg.

You might be thinking of Sub-Mariner #3. I don't have my copy scanned, but it is the one where Churchill is christening a ship and Subby is foiling the assasination.

Is it Churchill for sure?

Apparently so

GCD:

Characters:

GA: Winston Churchill; V: Mueller (I, D), Nazis; I: Cestis and a race of sub-sea Druids

Higher res attached.

Winston certainly seems like a yellow-suit kinda guy. It's either him or W.C. Fields.
